What is a Site?
Sites allow you to group fields and orchards for easy navigation. For example, you may have 5 fields at site A and 8 fields at site B, but they are several miles apart. When you create these two sites in Tend you can quickly jump between them without having to scroll across the map.
Creating your Farm Site
The first time you click on the Locations feature in Tend you’ll see a welcome message and will be asked if your farm has multiple sites. If you initially select “No” you can always go back and add another site later.
Next, you’ll be asked to enter an address for your farm to easily locate your site on the map. If your farm site doesn’t have a street address, you can just search for the nearest city and can select the exact location on the map. Once you’ve entered an address or city, click “Continue to Location Setup.”
In the next screen you’ll need to give your site a name and you can adjust the position of the Site pin on the map (see video below). To finish creating your site click Save.
Creating Additional Sites
To add another site, click the drop-down menu under Site (you may need to first click on the Map List button to bring up the list of locations) and select the “+ Add Site” option. You’ll need to give your site a name, and you can search for the location by entering an address.
To edit an existing site, click on the Map List button to bring up the list of locations, click the drop-down menu under Site, hover over the site you’d like to modify, and click on the Edit Site icon to Edit the name, location, or to delete the site.
Select Home Site
If you have multiple Sites but want to select a default or “home” site that will load when you open the Locations feature, click on the Map List button to bring up the list of locations, click the drop-down menu under Site, hover over the site you’d like to modify, and click on the star icon to select it as your home site.
