After selecting Add Location/Field, select the second option for “Draw the perimeter of my field”
To create the shape of your field, click to add points along perimeter of your field, eventually connecting back to the first point. Once you complete the field shape you can adjust, add, or remove points along the perimeter. To add a new point click on the transparent dot halfway between existing dots. To delete a point right-click on the dot and click the Delete icon. Once you’ve finished creating your field shape you can either click Confirm to save or Redraw to start over.
Tip: if you’re having trouble connecting to the first point, make sure that your cursor is in the center of the first dot. When you’re centered on the dot, the cursor will look like this:
Set Bed Direction
Once you’ve clicked Confirm, you’ll need to select the side of the field parallel to your bed direction. This defines the direction that beds will be drawn inside your field shape, and beds will be drawn starting at the side you’ve selected. Hover over a side of the field until it is highlighted in yellow and click to select.
Next you’ll need to enter the details for:
- Field Name
- Tillage method (Tractor or Hand-Scale/BCS)
- Bed width (in inches)
- Path width (in inches, for Hand-Scale/BCS only)
Once you’ve entered this information, click Create Beds. The beds will be numbered starting with the side you selected for the bed direction, but if you’d like you can reverse the bed order by clicking the option for “Flip bed order” next to the Add Block button on the left hand side of the screen.
To finish creating your field, click Save.
