In this article you can find tips and tricks to help you make the best use of the crop planner.
Printing your Crop Plan
To print your crop plan click on the printer icon in the top-right of the crop planner screen. Select the plan you want to print and the relevant date range. To return to the crop planning screen, simply click outside the print preview box.
Editing Frost Dates
While Tend makes our best guess for your frost dates, only you know the day-to-day changes on your farm. As such, you can now edit your frost dates through the following steps:
- Click on settings or the gear icon in the bottom-left of your screen
- Click on “Farm settings” on the side bar
- Click into the “Avg. first frost” and “Avg. last frost” to select your desired dates
If you ever want to return to Tend’s suggested dates simply click on the checkbox at the bottom of the frost dates section.
Greenhouse Plantings View in Crop Planner
Greenhouse Plantings lets you view only your greenhouse activities. If you specified “Greenhouse Sow” or “Transplant from Purchased” as your planting method, you’ll be able to view it in the Greenhouse plantings.
Within Greenhouse plantings you can sort by sowing date, greenhouse sow, transplant, and crop name.
Not seeing something in your Greenhouse Planting? Return to your crop planner and double-check that you’ve selected “Greenhouse Sow” or “Transplant from Purchased” in the planting method dropdown.
Another feature of the Greenhouse Plantings View is the total flats graph which you can click in the top-right to display.
To plan ahead for your growing season, we’ve created the flats across time graph. This displays which flats are in use based on your crop plan. By default, Tend displays the 5 most common flats to your crop plan. Click to select the flat type of interest and make sure you have enough on hand for your sowing.
