Coming Soon: Pick & Pack and Offer Sheet & Ordering Features
Tend is developing Pick & Pack and Offer Sheet & Ordering Features to connect your harvest and sales activities for comprehensive farm business management.
Pick & Pack will streamline harvest management by updating your plan with online orders as they come in. Orders are automatically aggregated into a single, detailed pick list, which you can either print before hitting the fields or manage from the Mobile App, where you can then track harvest progress throughout the day.
Once everything’s picked and in the packing shed, Mobile or printed pack lists for each of your sales outlets will keep you organized for accurate order fulfillment. Changes and updates will flow across all your orders and your pick and pack lists, so nothing falls through the cracks during the harvest rush.
The Pick & Pack and Offer Sheet & Ordering Features will replace Tend’s current Harvest Feature, but until they are available, the Harvest Feature is your control center for harvest management in Tend.
Managing Harvests and Yields with the Harvest Feature
The Harvest Feature is only accessible in the Tend Mobile App, where you organize your crew by creating, sharing, and updating your harvest list for the day. As you work through the list, you can monitor progress and streamline record keeping by adding or updating yields on the go.
Tend Tip: If you don’t have service in the field, you can print your harvest lists in the Web App and update Tend with your exact yield total after you’re finished harvesting. This is a temporary solution to help farmers use the Web App to streamline harvesting in the field until the comprehensive Pick & Pack Feature launches.
When you create Harvest Lists and record the yields, those yields and their associated revenues are automatically stored as Records in Tend. Your harvest Records will then flow into Yield Reports that you can review over the season for insights into your production.
For example — when you review your Planned Vs. Actual Report, you open a window into how the season differed from your expectations. Information such as your recorded yields and final harvest dates are funneled here and presented in a digestible manner to help you fine-tune your Crop Plan to your farm’s realities.
Dig In: The Average Yields by Time Report is a valuable tool for understanding your fruiting crop production. This Report shows you how your planned fruiting crops will build to and fall from peak production. It also offers tools for calculating how much of a crop you need to grow to meet your production goals, so you’ll be confident in when you can promise crops to customers.
Harvests and yields in Tend are managed on the planting level, so you can indicate the specific planting your crew should harvest in your list. This also enables you to record yields on specific dates for each planting, so you can analyze detailed production nuances for each crop.
As the harvest season goes on, you can indicate that you are done harvesting from a particular planting by finishing the planting. This updates your Crop Plan to show that the bed is available for the next planting and records the finished planting's final harvest date, so you can hone in on your accurate harvest windows for more reliable production planning.
Viewing and Analyzing Yields
You can view your yields in two places in Tend: in the Yield Display of your Crop List and in the Yields section of the Reports Feature. These locations provide a detailed window into a crop’s performance over the current and past seasons. View your yields midseason to track the crop’s progress towards its projected total yield, or view yields as part of your end of season review process.
Tend Tip: Tend enables quick analysis in the Yield Display by showing a crop’s total planting amount for the season, its estimated total yield, the actual total yield, and the average yield rate on both the crop and planting levels, so you can identify specific opportunities for production improvement.
