So far in this Guide, we’ve focused on getting you up and running in Tend’s Web App. Now that you’ve created your Crop Plan and are managing daily activities with Tasks and Task Templates, you’re ready to take your plan to the fields with the Mobile App.
The Mobile App provides the tools and information you need to drive your daily field work and make informed decisions on the go, so you can efficiently execute your production plan.
Tend Tip: You must have an internet connection or cellular data to connect to the Mobile App. If you don’t have consistent service, you can manage field work by printing your greenhouse, field sowing, or transplanting plans; your Task lists; and your Harvest lists from the Web App.
Empower fieldwork with your plan in your hand.
The Mobile App puts the details of your production plan at your fingertips to help you keep fieldwork focused and productive.
In the Mobile Crop Plan Feature, you can view planting details such as sowing and transplant dates, bed assignments, and in-row spacing, so you and your crew always have the information you need to accurately execute your plan. As you work, you can reference upcoming Tasks to look ahead, get organized, and set yourself up for success.

Respond to changing conditions with in-field updates.
If the greenhouse plastic flies away and all other work has to stop until it’s replaced, simply edit your Tasks to reflect the change of plan. Any affected Task Templates or planting dates will automatically update accordingly, so your production stays on track, no matter what the season throws at you.
Tend Tip: If you’re too busy problem solving to update your plan as you go, make a quick Note in the Mobile App of what you need to edit on the Web when you have more time.
Capture the nuances of your season for robust Records.
As the season unfolds, the Mobile App enables you to capture production nuances from the field. Updating planting details, bed assignments, and the dates of completed Tasks to reflect reality keeps your Crop Plan accurate throughout the season, so you can use it to spot opportunities and make adjustments in real time.
An updated Crop Plan ensures that your Records and Reports are populated with accurate data that offers insights into your season. The Mobile App helps you incorporate the updating process into your daily routine, so you’re always caught up.
In the Mobile App’s Notes Feature, you can create a detailed reference library of your observations over the season by adding Notes, assigning them to specific plantings and locations, and uploading photos. Notes flow into your Records and Reports in Tend, so you can incorporate your insights from the field into your season analysis.
Key differences between the Web and Mobile Apps.
Mobile Features are specifically designed for accessing, updating, and implementing your plan on the go, so Feature functions that are not oriented to accomplishing daily production tasks are not included in the Mobile App. For example, it is not possible to map fields or view your Crop Plan organized by field and bed in the Mobile App, but you can view and edit your field plan on the go in the Mobile Locations Feature.
The lean functionality in Mobile gives you the tools and information you need to put your plan into action without losing momentum in the field.
The Mobile App Dashboard helps you hit the ground running by displaying your daily Tasks and providing quick navigation to recent plantings and Locations. You’ll also notice that Notes has its own menu item in the Mobile App, so you can create a field Note for your Records without breaking your stride.
The Mobile App is also the home of Tend’s Harvest Feature, which enables you to create Harvest Lists, record harvests, and update yields, all from the field. If you don’t have service in your fields, you can manage your Harvests in Tend by printing a Harvest List and recording yields in the Web App after the harvest is finished.
Dig In:. Note that Tend is developing two new features for comprehensive harvest and sales management. The Offer Sheets & Ordering and Pick & Pack Features will replace the current Harvest Feature once they are launched. Learn more in the How Harvest and Yields Work in Tend chapter of the Guide.
