Getting set up to sell
Steps to selling within minutes:
- Set up your catalog (see below)
- Enable your online store and link your Square account (learn how)
- Share your store link with your customers via social media, your website, etc.
Important: When you first visit the catalog you'll be prompted to import your catalog from your crop plan. Note that flowers will not import. You'll need to create them manually. Learn how to do that below.
Selling mixed bouquets
To sell mixed bouquets of flowers that contain multiples varieties, create an “Other”-type catalog item.
You will be directed straight to the product details screen for your new product. Enter the “Item Name” (e.g. Mixed Bouquet) that will appear in your Store and add a custom thumbnail image if desired to help your bouquets stand out on the page.
We recommend that you create distinct products for different sizes and types of bouquets you offer consistently throughout the season – this allows you to set a particular price for each type of bouquet that you sell.
Depending on your product availability you can easily show/hide each product in your store, and set inventory limits, letting the system do the work for you.
Click “Create” to add the product to your Catalog and return to the main screen to set your price.
Create catalog items for individual flowers, linked to your crop plan
Important: When you first visit the catalog, you'll be prompted to import your catalog items from your crop plan. Note that flowers will not import. You'll need to create them manually (learn how below).
Note: If you sell flowers by the stem, you can create them manually in the catalog, and link them to your crop plan. Why link to the crop plan? In the future, this link to your crop plan will be beneficial in reporting, as well as telling you which plantings to harvest from in the Pick & Pack tool.
To manually add a flower item to your Catalog, click on the blue “Add Product” button and select the “Produce” option.
Then select the flower crop that you’d like to add to your Catalog.
Note that a crop will only appear in this list if it is already included in your My Crops.

Selling flowers by the stem and/or single variety bunch
Once your Catalog is set up, click on a product to open the product details screen. This is where you will specify the units in which you sell the flowers in this particular product.
In the image below, pick and pack units have been created to indicate that Dahlias will be sold by the stem and by the bunch. If you want to update how many stems equal a bunch, hover over the ruler icon and click “Edit conversion.”
You’ll indicate which of these pick and pack units are available for your customers to buy when you prepare your Store for a particular order window. That way your in-store inventory will stay up to date with what you have available on the farm.
When you’ve entered your product sales information and made any necessary updates, press “Save” to return to the Catalog main page.
To set your prices per unit, enter your retail rates into the Online Store column for each of the product's pick and pack units. You can always adjust these prices later both here in the Catalog or directly in your Online Store.
You’re ready to set up your Store, set your order windows and delivery dates, and open your store for sales. Learn more about managing your Store settings, creating your Catalog and working in your Online Store here.
